It feel’s like there’s constantly friends coming to visit and stay at my place in Maryland in the summer, especially these last couple weeks, which is one of my favorite things about living in a resort town. For as long as I can remember I’ve celebrated my birthday, along with basically all of my friends birthdays, bachelorette parties, and more in and around OC, so by now I’ve discovered all the fun spots to spend a weekend dedicated to the girls.

Here’s the ultimate girls getaway guide to Ocean City, Maryland.

WHERE TO STAY

Aloft OC

I typically recommend opting for Airbnb over hotels. It’s usually cheaper to split a house between the girls than to rent multiple hotel rooms. That being said, overall prices in OCMD are far lower than what you’d find in Atlantic City or Florida.

Cambria OC

One of the newer hotels in Ocean City, and located downtown right off the route 50 Bridge – the Cambria is best known for its breathtaking bay views of the inlet/Assateague and Assawoman Bay from their bayside rooms. Don’t worry – the other rooms views overlooking Ocean City and the vast Atlantic Ocean aren’t to shabby either!

Airbnb

If you’re traveling with a larger group – I recommend looking for an AirBnb, you’ll get more for you money and be way more comfortable. My boyfriend actually has an Airbnb in midtown by the convention center, but there are tons of really nicely done airbnbs in town if you do a little search!

ENOY A BOOZY BRUNCH

What’s a girlfriend getaway without a bit of booze in the morning?

BARN 34

BAYSIDE SKILLET

BAD MONKEY

LOOKOUT LOUNGE

SPAIN

DINNER SPOTS

BOAT PARTIES, JET SKIS, PADDLEBOARDS AND KAYAKS

Start your day in Ocean City on the bay and soak up the sun and take in the gorgeous views. If youre up for morning yoga, try out Sandbar Yoga. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, jet skiing at Oddysea Watersports is a must! You could also try renting Kayaks or paddle boarding for a little more mellow time.

If you’re looking for a more of a dat party vibe, try renting a pontoon boat and bring your own bottles . If you want to be extra pampered or want a designated DD that isn’t part of your group, opt for a boat rental with a driver like liquid limo or Seaquenched Charters.

HIT THE BEACH, OBVIOUSLY

What’s better than grabbing your bikini and your girls? When you’re on the shore, it’s all about the beach, and Ocean City has some of the best of them. Best part is, they’re all free!

Looking for parking? You can park at the inlet parking lot, or any of the main/side streets downtown for 3$/hr and its super close to the beach. The numbered streets (1-149) have free street parking near the beach, but (like everywhere) I recommend getting there early, as parking does fill up quickly throughout the day.

WINERIES + BREWERIES

The Eastern Shore knows how to make some tasty local brews, and there’s no better way to check them out than directly from the source.

Organize a brewery tour. Most of the breweries and wineries are local to the area, so I suggest getting over there and hopping around.

The Other One Brewery

Sinepuxant Brewery

Crooked Hammock Brewery (DE)

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (DE)

Tall Tales (Salisbury)

Evolution Brewing (Salisbury)

Seacrets Distillery

To check out the (famous in my eyes) Maryland wines, try out:

Windmill Creek Winery

Salted Vines Vineyard

BEST SPOTS FOR A DRINK IN OCMD

Coconuts is home to the best happy hour on the strip, Buy one get One FREE every day from 5-6. Warning: if you order one drink during the happy hour they will give you 2 because of the B1G1, so order accordingly haha I’ve made that mistake (deff not a mistake tho) one to many times.

Fagers Island: offers fine dining, casual dining, live music, and fire pits, all in a classy bay front setting. What more could you ask for? Their menu features several craft beers on tap and a selection of 32 wines by the glass! Fagers is also home to a super popular Monday Night deck party!

Seacrets; This instagram friendly tropical oasis makes you feel like you’ve transported to the caribbean islands are a sitting on the beaches of Jamaica. Make sure to grab one of their famous rum runners or “pain in da ass” -pina colada/rum runner mixed.

Fish Tales: This dock bar has everything from family fun to adult fun. One of my go-to spots for happy hour and hanging out, make sure to grab an orange crush and hit up the “adult playground” to take some cute pics in the swinging chairs.

Liquid Therapy: the pool bar at Aloft hosts a thursday night happy hour party complete with a DJ, glitter and braid bar, drink specials and mermaids!! Super fun! Make sure to try out a Smash bucket (white mango is my fave!!).

Saltwater 75: One of Oc’s newest bayfront restaurants, offering american + seafood, drinks and live music in the heart of Ocean City. With its picturesque waterfront location, Saltwater 75 offers a similar vibe to Ropewalk, accompanied by breathtaking bay views and a sandy little beach spot.

The Wedge OC: Overlooking the inlet + Assateague island, the Wedge bar offers amazing waterfront views in a hip, new, open air concept space!

Macky’s on the bay: The drink menu includes everything from beer and wine to frozen cocktails to multiple size buckets, perfect for cooling off after a morning at the beach. In the evening, you can celebrate with a variety of weekly events including Theme Night’s on Tuesday and Little Black Dress night on Thursday! If shot’s are your thing make sure to try your hand at the ‘Bomb Squad’ for your chance to win an exclusive Mackys bombsqad tee shirt!

Mr ducks: A locals treasure, its on the bay by the inlet so you get to see the boats coming in and out! Definitely recommend chugging a duck while you’re there as well!

Vista Rooftop: Located in north OC in the 8th floor of the Fenwick Inn, Vista rooftop is one of Oc’s newest hot spots with a breathtaking view of Ocean City, the Bay + Atlantic Ocean. Try one of their signature cocktails at one of the 2 bars, or on their rooftop deck, or enjoy live music as you munch on appetizers and dinner!
