My mom, sister, gram’s and I recently took a girl’s trip to Nashville last year and one of the biggest requests I got from people on my instagram was a Nashville travel guide and tips for visiting.

We planned a quick weekend trip and stayed right in the heart of downtown and were able to see and do so much in such a short amount of time (literally SO much) but we definitely didn’t get to see everything I’d hoped to, which just means I get to plan another trip back soon, and will share an update when the time comes, but until then..

Here are some of the things we did, places we ate at and where we stayed in Nashville, along with some tips for other first-timers!

WHAT WE DID

THINGS TO DO

  • Walk the pedestrian Bridge

  • Bar Hop down Broadway

  • take a dip at Pinewood Social or spend the evening bowling

  • Amelia’s Flower Truck – something I wish I would have done! It moves around the city and has different locations everyday so make sure to check their IG daily to keep up with where they’re at.

  • Explore Grand Ole Opry: about 15-20 min ride from the airport, I would recommend doing this on your way in/out of the city to save a trip!

  • Do a peddle bar/hop on-hop off tour

  • Shop! ( 12 South, The Gulch)

  • The Listening Room : was a super popular recommendation among my IG followers when I polled them for suggestions, they said it was a great spot to listen to/discover up and coming artists.

  • Visit The Murals

WHERE TO STAY

We stayed in the CUTEST Dolly Parton themed airbnb in an apartment building 2 blocks from downtown and there were always rideshare scooters on the sidewalks around the building which was convenient. It was a great location and the building had tons of amenities like a gym, library room and even an outdoor pool and lounge deck we could use. It’s actually a luxury apartment building that allows tenants to create their own airbnbs (which is an awesome concept) so it was literally just like a home away from home. I will say parking was a little wonky there, they’re extremely strict and you have to go up to the unit to get the parking pass and fob and keep the pass VISIBLE in your car at all times, or else they’ll boot/tow you which is just city living I guess lol.

The apartment itself was decorated so adorable and was clean and comfortable. It came fully stocked with all the essentials and even more, like the cuyour test welcome sign and an amazing green wall with neon “Broadway Girls” sign, complete for photo ops. It was seriously the cutest place and would be perfect for a bach party/girls trip.

I’ve heard East Nashville is super trendy and where a lot of the best undiscovered talent is, so if you’re looking to stay in that area, I’d recommend The Gallatin Hotel – my friend Mckenzie partnered with them when she visited and it looked amazing!

HOW TO GET AROUND

My grams actually drove and met us in Nashville so luckily, she had a car to use to and from the airport as well as getting around town. We did Uber like 1 or 2 times and it was super easy and fairly affordable to get around! Where we stayed, downtown was about a 10-12 min ride from the airport. Downtown was about a 10 min walk/2 min car ride from the airbnb and everything we went to farther from downtown was within 20-30 mins.

TIP: Nashville itself is so spread out so it’s not super walkable like NYC. They do have the scooters all over the city that you can rent by the min which is super handy for going more than a couple blocks!
